Note to self: Next time I ride a ride that has sparks in it, and it hasn’t been used in over ten years….be sure to wear rubber boots.
((Ooc: I’ve been working on a comic lately with Oswald running around the Wasteland-esque EPCOT which I call LostCOT, so here’s one panel from one of the pages I’ve been working on.
A little backstory, Journey into Imagination hasn’t been used in over 10 years, but it’s continuing to gain energy through the sparks of the opening scene. Instead of squandering all of this imagination on themselves, DF and figment intended to store these sparks away to make bigger and better ideas once they made their valiant return into the eyes of the public. However, when poor old Oswald comes into JII at the beginning of the comic, Figment pops out of his little compartment of the Dreamcatcher and he decides that he wants to exert as many sparks as he can onto this one new person that wandered into their ride. As a result, he manages to fling Oswald on top of the balloon in his grand and entergetic entrance.
I’m currently working on detailing the background, but for now, I’ve got Oswald and Figment pretty close to being finished as sketches. Enjoy people ^^))
Oswald: ACK! The SPARKS! They’ve got me!
Figment: Hey…umm….Mr. bunny? If you wanted to ride the balloon, all you had to do was ask! I don’t think Dreamfinder will-
Oswald: EEEK! *grabs at the balloon feverishly* HELP! Get me down!
Who me?! Watch one of those things? What are you-NO! Nope! I haven’t seen a single one, NOPE! Nor have I dreamt about being in one, nor wishing I had the fame he had, nor those magic powers and fancy robe, nor Leopold….nor that magical hat….*sighs*
Oh….uh…this goes into the time that I RULED THE CARTOONS! Ahem…touchy subject here.
Well, as you can imagine, after that little incident at the beach, I felt something was a little fishy. I mean, come on, a fish twice the size of ME pulled her out of the inner tube? What do you take me for, a moron?!
After a boiling conversation, I took the matters in stride and she went back to her quirks. We’d be back together in no time was my first thought on the matter, just like after the issue with that CAT in the schoolyard!
To my surprise, instead of slowly coming back to terms, we continued to drift further and further a part. We just didn’t seem to see at the same level.
Well after a few days of waiting at my post, I’d come to hear that a trout swapped a mermaid for her…..I had my badge immediately confiscated for my lack of diligence….PFFFFT!
Well, I never heard much of her after that, but as you can see both handled our issues and are now doing quite swell.

My Ortensia and I have been doing much better now that she’s no longer made of stone. She’ll be happy to hear that your asking about her!We’re just getting back to our old routines now that the blot has left all of us. (Though I hear there’s been some tremors around some parts….not much to worry about.) As for the children….well…at least Mickey’s not sticking them in JAIL! GAH! They are a handful, but there not Jail birds! Hmph…well we’re all doin’ just swell overall! Greetings from the Wasteland!
